OPPORTUNITY

Many of you have probably experienced others complaining about something, and, as you listened, you realized you had a solution to the problem about which they were complaining. You probably cheerfully said you had a solution or knew someone who could help solve the problem, maybe someone who could offer them a job, only to have them give you numerous reasons why they "couldn't" or "wouldn't" take advantage of the Opportunity you offered to solve the problem. And many of you have likely watched in amazement as that same person refused opportunity-after-opportunity, only to continue their complaining as they continued on their miserable path.

Anyone who has had this happen knows what a sense of frustration you feel when you know you can do something to help someone but they won't accept the Opportunity you could provide. When they reject Opportunities and continue to do things that create problems, especially for others, it is difficult to understand the choices they are making in their life.

Now, imagine how God must feel when he presents Opportunities to people yet they reject those Opportunities. When such people turn their backs on that Opportunity God provides, like us, God surely wishes they would listen and take advantage of that Opportunity, but when they don't, and intentionally reject God and continue their ways that harm innocent others, isn't the God we know justified in rejecting them? What more could someone ask for, but the Opportunity to become a better person, so they could please the God that gave them life and offers life everlasting in Heaven.

While this is important for us to see, so that we understand the consequences others face for rejecting God's Opportunities, it is even more important for us to see that the same is true when we reject the Opportunities God provides to us. Rejecting God's Opportunities is a very serious thing.

The Bible is one of those Opportunities. It does take some serious work to understand the guidance God provides through the Bible. The Bible tells us of many Opportunities God makes available to us, but to take advantage of those Opportunities, we must know they are there and learn what we should do with them.

God's Revolutionary Church of Willing Seekers, Servants and Souldiers is also an Opportunity: the Opportunity to learn more about the Bible and the Opportunities God makes available to us to show God we Love him " ...with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." Matt 22:37, by obeying his commands.
