THE TWO GREAT COMMANDMENTS

If we understand, accept and act according to what many Christians refer to as the Two Great Commandments, we will do all that God commands of us. How is this possible?

Let's look at a few examples of what Scripture reveals about the Two Great Commandments:

Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Mark 12: 29
29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Luke 10:26-28
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

The fundamentals of Christianity must NOT be ignored if we are truly to serve God. As you can see above, what we call the Two Great Commandments are said to be the commands on which all God's laws and information from the prophets "hang" (or are based). We also see that "There is none other commandment greater than these."

In these scriptures (from the Holy Bible), we can see that if we only adhere to these commandments, we will not violate any others. This is precisely why it is so important to understand and adhere to the fundamentals. These Two Great Commandments are the fundamentals of Christ's teaching (and the will of God).

If we understand that to seek, love and obey God we must seek, love and obey the truth AND obey these fundamentals (of loving the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself: It is impossible for us to do what is evil. But we must remember, to love God in this way, we must love the truth in this same way. You must love the truth with everything in you as you are to love God.

Remember, these are the fundamentals and if we get these right we will do no wrong. This is especially important for us to realize, today.

With societies and nations crumbling around the world, there is only one way to reestablish our direction toward achieving an honorable society, and that is to cooperate with God by doing things the way he commands us to do them. And we will know how God wants us to act if we will honestly treat our neighbor as we wish to be treated, thereby, loving our neighbor as ourself.

Can this really be that easy? It can. And that is exactly what God's Revolutionary Church was establish to achieve — to present the opportunity for all to know God's truth, that we can be the people he created us to be, we can be perfect, if we will humble ourselves and simply obey God. With this knowledge, we will use the truth to reveal how we can correct our wrongful ways.

Join us in this mission to help us all become the people God wants us to be.
